A few words about me, my style, my life... My name is Courtney Miller and I'm a photographer located in Dallas-Fort Worth. I spend most of my days juggling between my two crazy kids, one incredible husband, one over-grown yellow lab, and persuing this amazing adventure as a photographer. I've been photographing for years, but not until my daughter was born in 2003 did my interest in children's photography ignite.
I am inspired by the stillness of their souls and energy of their hearts. I strive to capture this quality not through static, posed images, but kinetic, spontaneous interactions. My style of photography is known as "lifestyle" because it's about beautifully documenting your child, your family, your life as you know it right now. Saturday morning I got to meet again with the beautiful Miss S who is now a big 6 month old! (You can see her precious newborn session here.) I absolutely adore this age! Sometimes sessions are just worth the wait. I lost count of how many times we re-scheduled Mr. C’s second year session, but everything finally came together this beautiful morning in the last week of March. He’s so big, but still, just a little dude. And, in another four weeks, a big brother. Those are some big boots to fill.

Loved these boys! Sweet, adorable and amazingly cooperative! Who could ask for anything more? This was supposed to be a session mainly for Baby C’s 6 month session, but with all these gorgeous boys, I couldn’t resist capturing them too! Thanks for weathering the weather, guys! It was definitely worth it!

Well, if you’re anywhere around North Texas, you know about the crazy weather we’ve been having! Crazy wind, snow and rain have done a number on our Spring Mini Sessions. My clients have been fantastic about happily rescheduling - what can we do?! - but it has made for a very slow blog this month! No worries, I will share some more from the beautiful session that DID happen earlier this month is just a bit!
So, with that being said, the spring mini sessions are all filled and I can’t wait to finally get together when all the precious families who booked. We’ll make this work, don’t you worry! And, while the weather may have wreaked havoc on our outdoor mini sessions, one session that is never stopped by weather is sessions in my clients homes. While showcasing your family in your most natural and timeless of styles , we are conveniently impervious to North Texas Weather!
We are now booking for the last week in May and June we’re going to the beach for a week (or two if I win the battle!), so if you have designs on a family session for the summer, please let me know ASAP! I feel like fall will be here before we know it! (such is the mentality of a photographer!)

In a shocking turn of events, the weather turned out gorgeous this weekend and so I got to meet with one of my favorite families for a morning in the sunshine! The family has grown since I last met with them, but I think the new addition looks quite lovely on them!
It was so great to see you guys again! I’m so proud of your little family and, from someone who did the “2 Under 2″ and lived to tell…you’re doing a fabulous job!!

Oh my goodness! Will winter ever end?! I’m doing my best to show it the door by posting our spring mini sessions a bit early this year! They were officially announced in our winter newsletter last month and have had an amazing response! (It must be the unanimous desire to make it springtime soon!) So, now it’s time to let those of you who are not on the mailing list get in on the mini session action. ter C turned 2 this month! Some very talented folks put together the coolest party for him and I got to document the festivities! The party was held at the School of Rock in Frisco…where they’re “saving rock and roll…one kid at a time”! LOVE that!
Cooper loves YO GABBA GABBA, so naturally, this was his theme. Here he is in his DJ Lance outfit! SO CUTE!
Stacey at The Wildflower did an amazing job with the party design. Here is the room before most of the little one’s attacked it. I love the green rug and lounge pillows. They all hung out there and watched a 70 foot screen that streamed the best of the YO GABBA GABBA videos!
Every little detail was tended to. Here are just a few shots of the zillions of cute decorations and goodies scattered throughout the party.
Cooper had a blast running a chasing and dancing with his friends! Happy Birthday to sweet Cooper!

My son is almost 2 (almost named him Cooper) and he is in love with Yo Gabba Gabba! He will hand me the remote and when I put it on, he gets a huge grin on his face. At first, I couldn’t stand it. It IS the most bizarre show ever. But now, it’s kind of catchy. Looks like you all had a lot of fun!
Love the pictures, you always do a great job and love to look at your photos of Cooper. My Cooper is 3 and was the “balloon boy” you took a picture of at the party!

I finally managed to grap a few images of my own kids for our Christmas cards the day before Christmas Eve. You know what they say about the cobbler’s kids! We still haven’t got the cards designed, but don’t give up hope yet! I just can’t get over how big they look. It’s one thing to see them every day, but to have the images to study and enjoy, you just notice so much more.
