{magical times} Dallas Fort Worth Children’s Photographer - Courtney Leigh Photography
June 2, 2010 – 8:29 am
As I sit here contemplating oil spill and 100 degree temperatures in June, I am reminded of a special evening not long a go, when the air was still crisp, but held with it a hope of sunshine of the season to come. Inspired by this promise of warm, lazy days, we grabbed our bug catchers and embarked on a spur-of-the-moment-after-dinner-nature-expedition. And then magic happened.

December 27, 2009 – 12:53 pm
We went down to visit my Aunt BB who lives in Brenham the first week in December. BB decided to surprise Jon David with a crazy fun birthday party! My clever aunt hired a crazy talented balloon making face painting magician of a clown for the event and we were set to make 5 year old party history. We had some friends that were supposed to come up from Houston and help JD celebrate, but the crazy snow storm of 2009 hit Houston that weekend and no one could make the trip! So there Eleanor and Jon David were with this awesome party all to themselves. They LOVED IT!!
JD wasn’t too sure about the face painting thing. So, we told him he could open one present if he’d then agree to get his face painted. Worked like a charm!

Waiting patiently to untie the gazillion wires from his new Buzz Lightyear.

Bat Jon David.
And some playtime with our new friend…

Eleanor fared pretty well in with all the festivities as well!
Balloon time!

This is what a magic show for two looks like.
Cake time!
And we wound up the festivites with an impromtu dual.
And, there you go little blog and thank you to Aunt BB for the unforgetable Birthday Pary! Next up…the Christmas Stroll!
Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays with their friends and family! MWAH!
{Holiday Updates} Dallas Fort Worth Childhood Photographer - Courtney Leigh Photography
October 1, 2009 – 4:36 pm
Where, oh where has this year gone? It can’t possibly really actually be October 1st. But, with the days are getting shorter and my calendar is getting fuller and fuller it indeed must be!
I wanted to update booking status for holiday sessions. Mini Sessions are completely filled except for the 8:30 and 9am spots! I am looking forward to seeing everyone on the 10th. I love how mini sessions bring such a mix of new and past clients!
Standard sessions (which, remember, include a set of 24 holiday cards during October) are quickly filling up, so if you are wanting a session for the holidays, it’s best to contact me earlier rather than later… I want to be able to fit everyone in! My first spot available is the week of October 25th. Our official deadlines for timely holiday arrival of orders is as follows:
Last Session Date: November 7
Last Order Date: November 20th
Our office holidays are:
Thanksgiving: November 23rd - 29th
Chirstmas/New Year: December 16th - January 8th (with the exception of our newborns).
During holidays, you can still reach us via phone or email. Leave a message and we’ll get right back to you!
And, for further proof that it is, indeed, October, a conspicuous box arrived on our doorstep this week.
Much hullabaloo ensued.
Annnnd….check back tomorrow for a session sneak peek. I’ll give you a hint, she’s very small and very new. Until then, MWAH!
{Happy Dad’s Day!} Dallas Fort Worth Child Photographer - Courtney Leigh Photography
June 21, 2009 – 11:36 am
I hope all the dad’s are having a fantastic dad’s day today! I’m sure many of you spent your morning like we did…pancake breakfast in jammies, opening cards and climbing on daddy! Only difference is, when you’re married to a photographer, you have to make your own pancakes because your wife has a camera in her hands! Jonathan made some darn good pancakes, I must say! Happy Father’s Day to all you wonderful dads!
it stinks that this one is so grainy and E is blurry…and it’s really really grainy…did I say that already?! BUT I love the looks on Jonathan and Jon David’s faces…so in awe of the girly-girl! And that’s what it’s all about anyway, right?
There must be something infintely comforting about having your lovey, your thumb and your daddy’s shoulder to rest upon.
The hand picked father’s day card….
That this year she proudly signed all by herself!
And the best part…lots and lots of laughter and love!
Wishing you and yours losts of laughter and love on this lovely Sunday afternoon. MWAH!

April 13, 2009 – 2:35 pm
Well, the bug that we’ve been trading back and forth around here has finally got all of us down. It’s been a stay-in-your-jammies-lay-in-bed-and-eat-easter-candy kind of day. Which, I must admit, wasn’t entirely a bad thing! I’ll get back on the ball tomorrow when everyone is feeling better and in their proper places (i.e. not my lap!), so if you’re waiting to hear from me, you may have to wait a few more hours. Duty calls!
Despite not feeling up to par, Eleanor decided that she would help mommy and make some soup…she’s such the little Martha! I have to tell you, it was some darn good bean soup!

March 17, 2009 – 1:26 pm
The kids left to go spend the day (and night - whoop!) with my folks this morning. They were up at the crack of dawn. Jon David hollering “En-na-nor! En-na-nor! Wake UP! It’s time to go to Gigi’s!!!” I’m not even sure if Gigi herself was awake at this point. But, we got it all together. Packed up our jammies. Our toothbrushes. Our lovies. And waited for Gigi.
She finally arrived and there was great fanfare. Much was on the agenda for the day and when they pulled out of the driveway, I smiled because they are so blessed to be able to know their grandparents in this close and every-day kind of way. I’m sure they’re busy right now as I type this, but I want to share these two of the calm before the storm. Watching out the window. Waiting for Gigi and their adventure to begin.
{Spring Mini Sessions} Dallas Fort Worth Photographer - Courtney Leigh Photography
March 16, 2009 – 6:48 pm
With the fantastic weather we’re having today in Dallas Fort Worth, it’s the perfect time to announce the Courtney Leigh Photography Spring Mini Session Event! The very limited sessions will be offered Saturday, April 18th at a yet-to-be-announced location. (I have to keep an element of surprise!)
Details….
Spring 2009 Mini Session Event - $75
- 20 minute session
- up to 4 people
- an online gallery of 4-8 images from your session
- 1 8×10 custom mounted image
While the Minis are nothing like the full-blown Courtney Leigh Photography custom experience, they are a great opportunity to get a tiny taste of what we’re all about. Perhaps you’re a friend of a client and you’ve been curious to check us out. Maybe you’ve recently had a session with CLP, aren’t quite ready for another full custom session, but would love to capture your little ones in their Easter finery. (Oh, and Psst, Dads! A mini session is also a perfect Mother’s Day gift!) Whatever the case, here’s the perfect opportunity to get a few lovely spring images of your family all spiffed up!
Like I said, space is extremely limited with these, so please email me soon to get yourself on the schedule.
Please note, if you’re wanting the amazing experience of a full custom session with CLP, whether in the comfort of your own home, or a location of your choosing, I am now booking for May and filling up quickly. I want to be able to accommodate all of my fantastic clients, so please book early rather than later. We can always adjust things on the back end later!

February 28, 2009 – 7:39 pm
From 85 of Thursday to 30 degrees on Saturday. Must be Spring in North Texas! Jon David and I couldn’t take it any longer retreated to the warmth of my car during Eleanor’s soccer game on Saturday. Thank goodness I had my camera with me to keep us entertained. These are technically completely imperfect…but so perfect to me!
I hope everyone’s having a wonderful weekend! MWAH!
Cousins - Dallas Children’s Photographer - Courtney Leigh Photography
February 17, 2009 – 9:44 pm
When my nephew was down over the holidays, his mommy and I took all the cousins out for a quick photo shoot. And since, unfortunately family is always at the bottom of the “to do” list, I’m just getting around to posting these for her. We had quite a time trying to get all three cousins behaving at the same time. We finally gave up on my two and got some adorable shots of my almost 18 month old nephew. Yay Baby J!
Thinking his cousins are crazy….and he’s right!
Showing off his moves…
And my personal favorite…Abby is such a fun mom!
Thanks for your patience with me guys! We miss you and the kids miss their cousin “Bay Jack”!
MWAH!
